Clean teeth are an important facet of your oral health. If too much bacteria builds up on your teeth, you run the risk of developing cavities. To combat this, the American Dental Association recommends that you brush your teeth twice per day, once in the morning and once at night. Make sure you don’t rush through the brushing process and pay attention to hard-to-reach areas. The technique that you use to brush also plays a role in how effective it is: try to hold your toothbrush at an angle pointed at the area that your teeth meet your gums. Brush the inside, outside, and chewing surfaces of your teeth as well as your tongue. Keep your toothbrush clean and allow it to stand upright between uses.
Consider using a mouthwash with fluoride to also improve your oral health. Avoid eating sticky, chewy, or acidic foods as well as chewing tobacco.
